iOS Source Codes For Sale

Mustache Bash was the very first app that I released back in April 2012. It was a success from the beginning and has gone through 4 updates. People love mustaches. Go figure!

I’ve also reskinned Mustache Bash twice (for Christmas Pictures and Ugly Selfie Booth). Working with a mature, clean code is much faster and less expensive than developing from scratch.

The Photo & Video category is less competitive in games, so it’s easier to make a splash. and having 3-4 can help diversify your app portfolio and beef up your revenues. ( Read more )

You may not yet have heard of Viva Stampede, my match 3 source code , but you’ve probably heard of Candy Crush Saga .

Remember the tile-matching puzzle game with 6.7 million daily active users? The one that earns King, the game studio that created it, an estimated $633,000 per day? Yeah, that game.

Indie developers can learn something from these behemoths: people like simple games. They like games that are easy to learn (but difficult to master). They LOVE match-three gameplay.

Pretty soon, they’ll tire of Candy Crush (or beat the game), and they’ll be looking for the next fun game. ( Read more )

I love Copycat Echo . It’s a Simon game source code for iOS, and the graphics are awesome.

Simon first appeared in the late seventies, and has stood the test of time. The game’s staying power is a testimony to what many of us have rediscovered in the App Store: people love simple games. One of the first reasons that we began to consider making Copycat Echo was because Simon is a classic.

But, as with any product, we found things to improve. ( Read more )

Never create a piece of software you can only sell once.

Thankfully, I picked up this lesson somewhere while I was creating my first app, Mustache Bash, and I also applied it while creating a sound effects source code for iOS. At the time, I didn’t know that I would end up licensing the source codes for my various apps to other indie developers.

When I first began working on Funny Sound Effects , I had a very small budget. As a result, I had to get really scrappy and find creative ways to save money. ( Read more )

The Christmas season is supposed to be the best month of the year for app revenue, and in December 2012, Fast Laugh Jokes—which was the app’s title at the time—made $7.00. And that was an improvement over past months. Ouch. I guess the joke was on me.

But if I’ve learned nothing else about apps, I’ve learned this: regular updates can revive even “crapps.” (Did you see what I did there?)

Let me explain. Simple apps often have the most staying power. In fact, people love simple apps. They love simple games that they can play with one hand. They like utility apps that do one thing really well. They like simple because simple is easy to understand. ( Read more )

Bigger isn’t always better. Keep reading about the quiz source code , and you’ll understand why.

The app world is exciting. It’s pulsing with potential. I hear a new “success” story every week. But for every overnight millionaire made in the App Store, another hundred developers will walk away empty-handed. (I made up that stat, but you get the picture.)

Iconic is addictive. My wife and I were playing before bed one night, and because knowing about pop culture and celebrities is a point of pride for her, she got totally sucked in.

We stayed up an hour later than we meant to because she wanted to beat the game!

She eventually gave up not for lack of interest but because we had to get up early with our baby girl!

Rebuilding the code gave me the opportunity to improve the code base and add some of my favorite marketing and monetization features ( Read more )
